~weight loss & the biggest giveaway yet~

Many of you have asked about my recent weight loss, so I thought I'd share my story with you. Since Jan. 11Th I have lost a total of 17 pounds, 3" off my waist, 3" off my hips, & 1" off my thighs!
I had fallen into the routine of eating ice cream every night, finishing off the kids happy meals, and running through fast food restaurants when I was in a hurry. I didn't exercise except soccer one day a week.
I was feeling really sluggish, a little moody, pudgy, and not myself.
I new I needed to change my eating habits, but I kept saying that "I'd start my diet tomorrow"
We've all said that right? Yep, I think I said it once or twice a week and I was sick of it.
Some moms at my kids school had been going to see Carrie, owner of fit by design. I knew her a little because our girls play together.
So one day last Jan. I bit the bullet and went in to have my metabolism tested.
You can read about it here.
She also will test your body fat percentage and weigh you, etc.
I was shocked to learn my body fat was at 29%! I have always been fairly athletic so I guess in my mind I thought it would be lower.
That was kind of a shocker and seeing my waist measurements, etc. down on paper wasn't too exciting either!
The metabolic testing will tell you exactly how many calories you need to eat everyday to either lose weight, maintain your weight, or gain weight.
This is very specific to you. Every persons is different and the only way to get this accurate number is through a metabolic assessment.
I will quote Carrie here:
"Knowing how your metabolism works is essential to creating a plan to live healthy, look better and perform to your full potential. Our New Leaf metabolic assessment and training program is based on decades of medical research and proven scientific know-how. Your exercise and nutrition plans are based on your personal metabolic profile, this way we can create a highly successful, personalized training program that is unique to you. "

Another thing she told me was that on the days I was working out, I probably wasn't eating enough and my body was going into starvation mode. What that does is slow your metabolism down. You can read a personal story about that here.

It all sounds really technical, but believe me, it's the easiest thing I've ever done! I have an app. on my i-phone called "lose it" which tracks my calorie intake. I plug in my info. and don't go over that amount of calories in one day. If I exercise and say burn 500 calories, I get to add that onto my calorie intake, getting to eat 500 more calories. Basically whatever you burn, you need to eat again.

At first I thought I was eating way too much. But once a week I go in and get weighed and measured and each week I have gone down. My weight would probably go down even faster if I changed the quality of the foods I am consuming. However, I would much rather eat zucchini in bread that baked in an oven.

My husband joined in February and has lost 25 pounds. We go on bike rides together and I am able to be so much more active with my kids!
When I first started I got winded walking down to my mailbox. Now I am running 10 k's and a minimum of 4 miles per day. I feel stronger and I have so much energy! I went from a size 8-10 to a size 2-4.

I am so happy with the program. I know most of you don't live in my area, but I',m sure wherever you are, you can find someone that does metabolic testing.

For all of you in or around the Seattle area............
Carrie has generously offered one of her metabolic assessments for free!!!
The value of this is huge, $299!!!
