~DIY Fourth of July crafts~

No giveaway today, BUT, I have some fun DIY
crafts you can do to make your place festive for the 4th!

1~FLAG BUNTING: I don't have a tutorial for this one, but you can read about it here.

2~OLD WINDOW SIGN: Here I combined a old window I found at a salvage yard {look on craigslist} with red and white stickers from the office supply store. Super simple. Follow these steps to make your own!

3~KIDS FLAG ART: Enlist your kids in helping with the decorating. They love feeling like they helped! My son made this flag way back in preschool with red and blue construction paper and gold foil stars. I popped it in a white frame, and it is still one of my favorites!

4~DECORATING WITH UNINTENTIONAL ITEMS: Think outside the box. You don't need to only decorate with flags and stars. Find items that are red, white, and blue, and use them in your decor. This vintage red truck for example would be darling on a food table with napkins in it's bed.

5~FREE DOWNLOAD: You can find this cute download here.

6~MINI BERRY PIE RECIPE~ Nothing says summer like fresh berries. Make these darling mini pies and top with blueberries and sliced strawberries. Find the recipe here.

7~LET'S DECORATE!: Back in 2010 our home was featured on The Old Painted Cottage's website as cottage of the month. I went all out decorating for the 4th and you can take a tour of our home here.

8~SCRABBLE TILE FOOD LABELS: This one is pretty easy, cute, and unique. I simply spelled out the words to our foods on the buffet table with scrabble letters and placed them in their holders. You can do this for place card holders as well. I also did this one Christmas. To see that post go here.

9~COKE CRATE SILVERWARE HOLDER: This one is a no brainer and kinda falls into the #4 category. Take a coke crate {because it's red} and fill the individual compartments with mason jars. Add silverware to some, fresh flowers to others, and whatever else you like!

Have fun decorating for the 4th!
Don't take things too seriously.
It's a fun holiday and your decor should reflect it's laid back kinda vibe!
