Beautiful Baby Alpaca Yarn. Looking through the color book at all the different colored tassels of yarn, touching them one at a time, dreaming about new throw designs
The Ancient Art of Weaving. Sitting at a loom with a throw in process, looking at the fundamental technology of the instrument, and knowing that we’re using technology that is over 2,500 years old
The look on someone’s face as they engage with our throws or blankets for the first time
Sitting down at our dining room table with friends enjoying a meal of grass-fed beef steak and potatoes and salad, or free-range chicken and artichoke hearts and carrots, and knowing that everything on our plates was raised here, on our farm, by us
The view from the deck on the front of our house that looks out over the Panther Creek Valley toward the mountains beyond, covered by fir forests and draped here and there with whispers of clouds
The smell of fresh air in the morning reminiscent of camp
The couple shares this with us:
On our small studio in the Oregon wine country we hand-weave some of the world’s finest natural fibers into the most elegant, luxurious, and cozy blankets and throws to be found anywhere. Yarn spun from very fine baby alpaca fiber is first woven into fabric using weave structures selected especially for their beauty, drape, and texture. To our throws we add a loom-tied, delicately soft, finely crimped fringe. For our blankets we hand-weave a fine silk fabric and use it as a binding on all four sides.
Our throws and blankets are woven to provide the look and feel of luxury to enhance the most elegant interior design and to be almost irresistibly soft and warm. We create only a small number of pieces each year so we work hard to make sure that every one is a treasure.
I ordered the one pictured above, the Tattersalls.
