Our Sunday Project~Boosting Curb Appeal

Do you remember when I posted about walking around my neighborhood?
This house is a friend of ours and was built about 4 years ago. We fell in love with the structure over the garage door. Here it is a little closer up.

So today my husband and our friend Brian got an early start to build one on our garage! The weather was crazy! We started out with snow and then it turned to rain. Then we got 60 mph winds. It was freezing. I kept bringing them hot chocolate and warm cookies~trying to keep the momentum going!

Our friend Brian is a construction genius. He is the one that helped us on most of our home remodels. He always comes to the rescue when we need a helping hand. He's a great friend. We couldn't have done it without him.

The picture above shows the beginning stages.

After Brian went home, I put my craft projects away and went out to help with the finish work. It was so windy that our ladders kept getting swept away! I cut 45 degree angles on all the posts that you see sticking out. I messed up a few and my husband had to make a emergency run to Home Depot to get more! Oops, sorry hon!

As it was getting dark we were still out there plugging away.

Don't mind the messy garage!

Right before dark we finished. Well, almost. In the spring when the wood dries out, I will get my handy dandy paint brush out and paint it white to tie in with the trim.

I'm wiped. I'm going to go watch the HGTV Dream Home giveaway, then I'll be out like a light
Goodnight
