Cody's Birthday was a great success! We had lots of friends and family over for a mighty good circus themed PARTY! We had face painting, pin the tail on the donkey, A make your own sundae bar, and treats galore!
The gourmet cuisine was corn dogs and cheetos and apple juice! Yummy! I even enjoyed some myself!

It all started with the invitations. Cody himself came up with the circus theme and I ran with it! Invitations were made by emptying out animal cracker boxes and filling them with peanuts, a clown nose, and a "ticket" invitation that reads, "admit one" with the specifics on the back! They were so cute! Expensive to mail, but very cute indeed!
I found a darling vintage circus themed tablecloth at Restoration Hardware and got most of the other decor either from the dollar store or just from around the house. The tables centerpieces were apothacary jars filled with different candies and animal crackers (all those ones we dumped out of the invitation boxes!)
The dollar store had great circus striped multi colored fun plastic round cups with curly straws! The plastic plates were from Target at the dollar spot. Clown wig from our own dress up collection and proudly worn by ME!
It was a lot of fun! The only bummer was that we had to cancel the real ponies from coming due to the snow! The horse trailer couldn't get in our neighborhood. But everyone had a good time and I don't even think they missed riding the horses!
Now it's over, and while most people are just getting started on their New Years partying, I am off to bed with a hot chocolate (sugar-free of course) and 6 magazines that arrived today in the mail after over a week of no postal service (another not so great bonus from the snow storms!)
Goodnight, and Happy 2009!!!
